The Area

From New Compton you can explore the vibrant streets of Covent Garden – there’s plenty to do and many sights to see, with shopping, theatre, and culture right on the doorstep. Not to mention the endless places to eat and drink. The area is also home to Denmark Street (also known as ‘Tin Pan Alley’), which is renowned for its range of musical instrument shops. Covent Garden Market and the pedestrianised piazza is the hub of the area. It’s the perfect place for people watching or shopping in the fabulous boutiques. Top attractions include the Royal Opera House, London Transport Museum and Somerset House.

Covent Garden is bursting with history. It was home to famous writers and artists such as Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.
